How often are there tax changes?

Tax used to change only once a year during Budget time. However, taxes are constantly changing even several times every month such as The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS). They are becoming more and more complex.

What is CJRS?

​

CJRS stands for Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. The UK Government announced this mechanism on Friday 20 March 2020, effective from 1 March 2020. It is to allow Employers to continue paying part of their Employees' salaries to avoid redundancies and to access financial support. This Scheme arose as a result of business operations being severely affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic (also known as COVID-19).

Under CJRS, Employees must not work for that business to be considered to be furloughed.

​

​

What is CJRS Grant?

​

VF Accountants can assist Employers to claim some money back from HMRC on such furloughed Employees.

​

​

How do you calculate Furloughed Employees pay and CJRS Grant?
